ACUPUNCTURE AND CHINESE HERBAL MEDICINE

Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine are based on a complete system of natural internal medicine that has evolved over the last 3000 years. We use these modalities to effectively relieve symptoms while acting to simultaneously correct their underlying causes. We are successful in treating most physical diseases as well as mental/emotional imbalances.

Integrating Ancient Wisdom and Modern Medicine
Care is taken to obtain an accurate diagnosis which is sensitive to the unique expression of imbalances in each patient. We diagnose the flow of energy and blood in the body, as well as the health and balance of internal organs. To achieve this end, we examine the patient from many diagnostic windows. They include traditional tongue and puls diagnosis, Eight extra/Divergent meridian diagnosis, and Acugraph digital meridian imaging technology. We then understand the underlying causes of the health conditions, and translate that into the most effective individualized treatment plan.

Acupuncture
We offer a synthesis of the most effective, fastest acting and safest techniques to serve the individual needs of each patient. The four main Acupuncture techniques used in this clinic are distal; meaning away from the site of pain or symptom. These methods are highly efficient, reliable, and they avoid risk of aggravating existing inflammation.

They are:

  • The Balance Method, also known as Master Tung's, or I Ching Acupuncture, is a 2,500 year old secret technique, which often produces pain relief in seconds. It's responsible for creating the Acupuncture profession in California.
  • Auricular therapy, including the Needle-Free Ear Seed Therapy. Ear Seed Therapy, is a powerful adjunct to Acupuncture treatment. It accelerates overall treatment response in a wide variety of health conditions.
  • Scalp Acupuncture is a powerful system to effectively treat many orthopedic and pain conditions, as well as recover from stroke.
  • Eight Extra and Divergent meridian therapies are amongst the deepest acting and most comfortable, acupuncture treatments. They are often considered in chronic conditions and employ a highly sophisticated system of diagnostics which works for complex and sensitive patients.

We use only the finest quality disposable stainless steel and gold needles. The Clean Needle Technique Protocol is followed for hygienic safety.

How Acupuncture Works
Acupuncture uses thread-like stainless steel needles to balance the body's subtle energy systems. This produces therapeutic effect the regulatory processes of the brain, internal organs, nervous system, body chemistry, blood circulation, and musculoskeletal system.

Recently, science has determined that human beings are complex bioelectric systems. Energy circulates throughout the body along well defined pathways. Precise points on the skin along these pathways are energetically connected to specific body structures, organs and systems. Acupuncture points are stimulated to balance these energies which influence the health of the whole person.

How Acupuncture Feels
Many people are surprised at how comfortable they are during acupuncture treatment and how easily the acupuncture needles are placed. An achy fullness, tingling, or warmth is sometimes felt, but these are energetic sensations that differ from pain. People often remark that these sensations, though unfamiliar, are relaxing. One common side effect of acupuncture treatment is a euphoric state of calmness. Only the finest quality disposable stainless steel and gold needles are used in my treatments. The Clean Needle Technique Protocol is followed for infectious disease control and hygienic safety.

Types of Treatment
Eight Extra and Divergent meridian therapies are amongst the deepest acting acupuncture treatments. They are considered for chronic conditions. Taoist acupuncture, which balances the relationship of the acupuncture points to the elements of the Earth, often produces immediate results. Needleless treatment is available using Ear Seed therapy, for those who wish to avoid needles.

Far Infrared Lamp and Moxibustion Heat therapies both create a comfortable, yet warm penetrating heat that relieves pain and strengthens weakness. Moxibustion is applied with a cigar sized pole made from the herb, artemesia - Mugwort.

Electroacupuncture is practiced with a fine micro-current technology and is used to treat addictions, pain, and may be used with Eight Extra and Divergent meridian treatments.

Scalp acupuncture uses an advanced system to effectively treat paralysis due to stroke, injury, or pain. It combines well with rehabilitative Physical therapy. Cupping is sometimes employed to relieve pain and stagnation. Only disposable cups are used for hygienic safety.

Acupuncture Orthopaedics and Traumatology
Acupuncture is an effective conservative treatment for musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. In some cases it can resolve a condition making surgery unnecessary. Acupuncture can also facilitate positive outcomes from surgery, expediting recovery and resolving side effects.
